Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) is the revamped initiative of the Government of India aimed at achieving holistic improvement in higher education. It emphasises outcome-based funding, institutional transformation, accreditation readiness, digital learning, employability enhancement and compliance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Under PM-USHA, BSHEC acts as the nodal agency in Bihar for supporting universities and colleges in implementing reforms, utilising the soft-component grant, adopting e-governance systems, strengthening academic processes, and promoting innovation and skill development. The scheme also focuses on expanding access, ensuring inclusion, improving teaching-learning quality, fostering research and preparing institutions for future-ready higher education.
